At Lean Human Capital by HealthcareSource, a service of HealthcareSource HR, Inc. ("LEAN"), we take your privacy seriously. This statement describes the privacy policy for our entire website, including what information we capture and how it is used.

LEAN captures information from its visitors in two different ways:

  1. Indirectly—through our website technology
  2. Directly—through information you submit to us

Indirect Data Collection

By using aggregate statistical analysis, LEAN reviews trends based on information as a whole, but does not do so in an effort to identify individual users. Data collected indirectly through the use of proprietary and/or third-party software technology may include, but is not limited to:

  • Domain name
  • Referral data and exit pages
  • Browser type
  • Operating system platform
  • Internet service provider
  • Date/time

We use this information to analyze trends, administer the site, track users' movement, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use.

Cookies

Cookies are small files of information that websites can store on your computer's hard drive.  LEAN uses cookies in order to assist in aggregate statistical analysis and sometimes provide site customization based on anonymous session tracking. Cookies cannot be used to determine the actual identity of users, but they can be used to identify a computer. If LEAN customizes the site based on cookies, we won't know who you are unless you tell us.

Session IP Address

IP addresses may be logged to track a user's session. An IP address is the unique numerical identity of your computer. When we "log" an IP address, it means that our website associates a visit or series of visits to that unique numerical identity.

Direct Data Collection

Any personal information that you voluntarily provide to LEAN will be used for internal purposes only. We may use this to email you our quarterly newsletter or other LEAN information from time to time.  All such correspondence will be in accordance with the CAN-SPAM Act of 2003 and will include a straightforward method for unsubscribing. We do not share any personal information about you with third parties or affiliates unless explicitly indicated at the point on the site where the information is collected.

Links and Information Gathered by Others

Our site contains links to other sites. LEAN does not operate these sites, cannot control what information such sites gather or what such sites do with the information, and is therefore not responsible for the activities of the operators of such sites. This privacy statement only applies to information collected by LEAN.

Security

LEAN will take reasonable steps to protect the security and integrity of your sensitive personal information from loss, misuse, alteration or destruction, including making sensitive information available to our employees and agents on a need-to-know basis. However, due to the inherent nature of the Internet as an open global communications vehicle, we cannot guarantee that any information, during transmission through the Internet or while stored on our system or otherwise in our care, will be free or absolutely safe from unauthorized access or intrusion by others, such as hackers. By using the site, you acknowledge that you understand and agree to assume these risks.

If you contact us by e-mail or a “contact us” or similar feature on the site, you should be aware that your transmission might not be secure. A third party could view information you send by these methods in transit.

LEAN will have no liability for disclosure of your information due to errors or unauthorized acts of third parties during or after transmission.

In the unlikely event that we believe that the security of your personal information in our possession or control may have been compromised, we may seek to notify you of that development. If a notification is appropriate, we would endeavor to do so as promptly as possible under the circumstances, and, to the extent we have your e-mail address, we may notify you by e-mail. You consent to our use of e-mail as a means of such notification.

Phishing

It has become increasingly common for unauthorized individuals to send e-mail messages to consumers, purporting to represent a legitimate company such as a bank or on-line merchant, requesting that the consumer provide personal, often sensitive information. Sometimes, the domain name of the e-mail address from which the e-mail appears to have been sent, and the domain name of the website requesting such information, appears to be the domain name of a legitimate, trusted company. In reality, such sensitive information is received by an unauthorized individual to be used for purposes of identity theft. This illegal activity is known as “phishing.”

If you receive an e-mail or other correspondence requesting that you provide any sensitive information (including your password) via e-mail or to a website that does not seem to be affiliated with LEAN or HealthcareSource, or that otherwise seems suspicious to you, please do not provide such information, and report such request to us at solutions@healthcaresource.com.

Changes to the Privacy Policy

If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those changes to this privacy statement, our homepage, and/or other places we deem appropriate so our users are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we disclose it. We will use information in accordance with the privacy policy under which the information was collected.

However, if we plan to use users' personally identifiable information in a manner different from that stated at the time of collection, we will notify such users by email if, and to the extent that, such users have provided their email addresses to us. If you do not reply to such an email, or we receive a reply of "undeliverable" or a similar message from your last known email address, in either case after a reasonable time, we will use the information in the different manner.

Exceptions

We may collect personally identifiable information and use such information if we are required to do so by law or if we deem it advisable in the course of assisting law enforcement activities or protecting our website and other data.

Note For Parents

Our site is not geared towards children, and LEAN does not knowingly solicit, collect or maintain any information from children under the age of 13. If you believe that your child under 18 has gained access to the site without our permission, you may contact us at solutions@healthcaresource.com. If you are under 13 years of age, then please do not use or access the Site at any time or in any manner. Should a child whom we know to be under 13 send personal information to us, we will use that information only to respond directly to that child (or a parent or guardian) to inform him or her that we must have parental consent before receiving his or her personal information, and we will then take the appropriate steps to delete such information.
